IMITATION PRODUCTS
Counteraction to Space Age Technology Cookers

Our repeat customers and fans of Imperial Kamado cooker will agree that it is not necessary to use the so-called space age technology in the production of cookers and that high degree of heat is not desirable for Kamado cooking. Beware of claims from those who say that their cookers are the result of space age technology. In actuality they have only made a heavier product at high cost without using skilled craftsmanship. Through the use of special natural clays and our proven production process, Imperial Kamado has always maintained the strongest long lasting earthenware cooker you need to cook delicious foods. So-called CERAMICS are classified as Porcelain, Stoneware and Earthenware/Pottery. However, there are big differences between porcelain and earthenware when you seek the ultimate in better taste. Earthenware works much more efficiently by its characteristic expansion with heat, which porcelain or metal products can not duplicate. Furthermore, porcelain needs more charcoal fuel to achieve same internal temperature as Imperial Kamado because porcelain loses heat to the outside and becomes dangerous to touch. To prove our point, we challenge anyone to demonstrate how foods can be cooked at 700 degrees without searing or charring the food while maintaining the tastiness and juiciness. Taste enhancement is the Imperial Kamado's great advantage and is achieved at much lower temperatures.

It is understood that imitation products from Taiwan imported by our competitors (ex-clients) became brittle after few years of use. We presume it was because these are made of an inferior fire-clay. There are marked differences in quality between the two products, jeopardizing the reputation of the Imperial Kamado in the mind of consumers. Many owners of Taiwan products complained to us of breakage after use. The brittleness and spontaneous breakage is not a drawback with Imperial Kamado. The problem is with the clay and should not be solved by substituting porcelain. Porcelain may not spontaneously break, but it will transmit and lose heat. "lose flavor taste".

The Taiwan-made copy products were imported by Pachinko House Imports, Georgia and marketed around the period of 1979-1994 and were sold under the name of China Pot and Big Green Egg. Multiple Taiwan made products were sold under the name of China Pot, Big Green Egg and Kyoto, and many customer believed that these were the original Kamado. If "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" then Imperial Kamado being the original must be good since it has so many imitators.

Fuel efficiency, economy of use and "Tasting is Believing" are our top features. Food cooked in the Imperial Kamado retains moisture and juiciness because less charcoal is used to maintain every heat at the correct temperature. Furthermore, set properly, the low heat generated by the Imperial Kamado will easily last 4-5 hours or more. We find it to be absolute nonsense to claim that a cooker will hold 2,000 degrees of heat and to back it with a life time guarantee. It is not possible nor necessary. There is a famous Japanese proverb, that says "No objects lasts forever-someday it will break".

A true Kamado cooker such as the Imperial Kamado can retain low heat over a 20 hour period using fewer briquettes because it is an earthenware product. Those that claim that 700 degrees is needed for cooking make this claim because they cannot maintain a constant low temperature like the Imperial Kamado can. Try smoking cheese or baking bread with "copy-cat cookers" and will encounter disasters. The secret of the Imperial Kamado is its thermos like ability to achieve and retain optimal heat.

Imperial Kamado cookers are reasonably priced to fit the budget of the average person. Because of the original design, hand-craftsmanship excellent quality, value and reputation, one would think Imperial Kamado is much more expensive that the imitation cookers which claim so-called space age technology. Actually the copy products are priced higher than the original Imperial Kamado.

Please be aware that the original IMPERIAL KAMADO's traditional style and construction were created by old-time Japanese. Producers of imitations would have you believe that their Kamado style and its construction are the result of research and development in the last 2 decades. They can not improve on something that is already perfect. As a result, those so-called artisans of imitators can not come up with any new worthwhile features, but instead they continue to rely on copying the very dimensions of the IMPERIAL KAMADO.

IMPERIAL KAMADO is the world's very best product in its category. We are proud of record sales of over 100,000 units to overseas customers who continue to express satisfaction with our products. We believe our loyal customers and the original Kamado fans when they say that our Imperial Kamado is the world's best cooker/smoker.

There are so many imitations in the market. We are concerned that new customers who buy and use inferior imitations think they are the original Kamado, thus tarnishing the reputation that IMPERIAL KAMADO has achieved over 30 years in worldwide markets.
