Very Important Announcement

To the Kamado Family(our long-term loyal customers, owner/user, & prospective owner)

It is time for me to retire and to turn over my sales program to a successor.  I have a limited on-site inventory, and in view of my retirement decision, I have not made any  large, new imports. In deciding to retire, I look back on my life-long involvement with the Kamado.  I feel I have satisfactorily fulfilled my resolve to be loyal to my clientele by supporting their needs, whether it be information, repair instruction, replacement parts, or new units.  I have even helped rejuvenate a Kamado bought 50 years ago into a perfectly working unit.  I have treated each Kamado owner as a worthy and personal friend, regardless of where the Kamado was bought.  I have kept the customer’s cost low by importing in large lots and passing on savings, taught repair rather than buying new, and as of late1999, by selling direct via the internet to avoid middle-man charges.

My hope, with this decision to stop full-time involvement is that there would be someone take over, someone who would give equal devotion.  The Kamado is a product I have nurtured and loved for 30 years.  It has qualities not found in other non-authentic brands.

If you are interested in being my successor, I outline some generalities:

  1. You would benefit and have a head start in a business that has already done years of  ground work and invested more than a million dollars in research and set-up.  Our  experience will keep you from some of the pitfalls that are avoidable in business.
  2. If expansion and growth are your objectives, other products can be included, such as the  “SHICHIRIN” which has recently been introduced.
  3. Roughly, you need to plan on an investment of $300,000, which includes the purchase of the minimum production of 630 units(3 x 40ft containers, 480-#5 Kamado, 180-#3 Kamado sets plus some replacement parts).
  4. You will get established customer base, trademark (w/logo), cookbook copyrights, web-sites, etc.  I would be amenable to part-time participation in supervising & up-grading production aspects in the Orient if my successor so desired (this will be a separate deal), now that I plan to give-up full-time sales.
